The significant issue we focus on

About 1.6 billion people in remote areas have no access to electricity, what leads to massive individual, social and economic disadvantages.

Based on an organizational platform, id-eee initiates and coordinates projects to overcome this bottleneck of development through help to self-help.

We do this by education: Teaching local people to become entrepreneurs based on the use of solar systems for private and for productive use.

The development projects descript on this website take place in line with the Program Min-E Access as discussed at Rio+20. The program was initiated by the Division for Sustainable Development of the United Nations in February 2012 and is in implementation under the UN's patronage.

Some more details

We train young entrepreneurs who afterwards are able to maintain and repair solar home systems and to sell them to local households in remote areas.

According the policy of “help for self-help”, we aim at a sustainable development achieving higher incomes, better supply and improved working skills.

Bringing photovoltaic to remote areas opens the opportunity for productive use of energy and leads to a variety of new job possibilities.

We initiate, carry out and coordinate projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America based on clearly defined ethical and performance-related principles.

Following a “multi-stakeholder approach”, we welcome cooperation with public and private institutions and companies as well as with universities and NGOs.
